Charleston Insider's Guide > Hotels & Lodging > Camping & RV Parks

The great outdoors calls out to thousands of people during the summer months. If you are one of those people you can camp or find a place for your RV in Charleston that suits your needs at a price you can afford.

There are the standard KOA options you’d come to expect but there are also a few campgrounds that offer a special experience that could only come from an area as unique as Charleston, SC. Beach front views in particular are soothing to consider when choosing where you want to stay.

All of the campgrounds and RV parks are located outside of historic downtown. Considerations should be made for travel inside the city, because a trip through the Charleston area is never complete without a carriage ride and some she-crab soup at one of Charleston’s many spectacular seafood restaurants.

Camping is a great way to see all the southeast has to offer without spending tons of money. Make sure Charleston is on your itinerary; you won’t find another city with this much history combined with such a beautiful view of the ocean anywhere else.
